The MRI diagnostic devices are extremely susceptible to electromagnetic interferences, so that Faraday cages are necessary to let them work properly. The R&D department of Quality Shielding Cage has realized an innovative Faraday cage, which unites ample shielded windows, with quickly demountable structure panels and a pleasant LED lighting system, to offer the way of installing open MRI devices in few days and realizing pleasant diagnostic MR environments in small spaces. This is the ‘PERFORMA’ model of the UNIMED line of Faraday cages.

General features:

The product is virtually unique in the vast panorama of Faraday cages for MRI environments, because of high attenuation performances, despite the high number of transparent parts (90 dB @ 10-30 MHz [H field] and >100 dB @ 30-100 MHz [E field]). It can be shipped anywhere in the world in special crates, to be mounted in few days by trained personnel under the supervision of a professional of Faraday cages for medical environments.

The transparencies are made of special copper mesh placed between sintetic transparent sheets. All the panels are made of sintetic powder painted Steel/Aluminium, while the shielded doors are made of stainless steel and can be produced in transparent versions. Being modular, the ‘PERFORMA’ cage can suit all MR devices (from the smallest to the higher field ones) by the main manufacturers.

Advantages for users and patients

The special front transparencies reduce the claustrophobia in the people under examination and the special self-porting and independent structure let the installation to be performed in finished rooms in five or less days, including the operations of introduction of the magnet. This type of shielding can be mounted around different types of low field magnets, being properly scaled.
